Kicking Off 2026:
NYE was uneventful. Rog and I snuck in a quick date, Rowan hung out with Hayden, Cruz hung out at home and Cora slept over at her friend Aleyah's house. I have no photos. :)
The weekend after New Year's, Rog and I got away for an overnight in Tampa. We shopped, stayed in a nice hotel, had a fancy dinner and smoked cigars on the beach. It was the perfect way to start the New Year and definitely one of the perks of having kids who are old enough to stay overnight alone.
Southeastern University:
Another college visit down for Row. This one reminded us a lot of Concordia. I wouldn't be surprised if Rowan ends up here. :)
Soccer Wrap Up & Senior Night:
We got to experience our first Senior Night with our sweet Rowan. The athletic department honored the senior soccer players with special recognition, a team photo and a signed soccer ball.
All the seniors and their families!
We loved having Grandpa and Deona as a part of the evening!
Guatemala Girls Trip:
My very first Florida friend, Erica, is from Guatemala and she invited some of our friend group to experience it with her. She carefully planned the most beautiful trip for us. It was the best weekend full of amazing memories and the most amazing friends. I'm really thankful for my FL tribe and for sweet Erica who forces this introvert out of the house. ;)
Lake Atitlan
Antigua
We kicked off my birthday in Guatemala as well with a fun brunch and special Guatemalan dessert. We were on our way back from the Miami airport at midnight when it officially turned into my birthday and my sweet friends blared "Feliz Cumpleanos" right at midnight in the van.
Misc Birthday:
I had two birthday dates with this guy. This is the only one pictured!
As usual, Mom came to visit for my birthday and this is the only pic we got together. I loved taking her on my favorite walks (John Ringling Bridge, Lido Beach, Celery Fields), we ate delicious food, found a new couch for our family room and had the best chats. I'm so grateful for her.
Cora Cheer Wrap Up:
Grammy got to see Cora's final cheer game. Unfortunately, Cora was injured with a strained tendon in her hamstring so she wasn't able to do all the cheers but it was still fun to have Grammy there.
Basketball:
Sweet Cruz was thrilled to have Grammy come watch one of his JV Basketball games as well. We thought his season would be over as JV finished up at the end of the month but he gets to practice with/attend the Varsity play off games for a few more weeks! Proud of you, Cruz.
Competition Kick Off:
Dance completed a crazy weekend of activities that Grammy got to participate in! :) That hamstring strain was a bit of an issue for Cora but she made it through. She's a tough cookie!
Coco's cheering squad!
Beautiful girl!
Arizona Girls Trip:
We're moving on from 40th birthdays into 50th birthdays for several of my Arizona friends. We celebrated Amanda and Devon who are turning 50 this year. We had so much fun boating, visiting an escape room, axe throwing, shopping, and staying up late chatting about crazy things. Arizona will always feel like home to me and so will these forever friends.
