Happy 2010!

Here are some pictures from a lively New Years Eve here at our house. Everyone, well, except for me, was fast asleep long before midnight. Not to worry, I still captured 12:00AM so Rowan, Roger & Cooper could see what they looked like as we slipped into a new decade.

Just a little something for Rowan to discover tomorrow morning at breakfast. I LOVE that his current obsession costs .97 cents each. :-)

P.S. I'm not sure why the date says December 31 but I promise you its January 1, 2010. I'm too tired to try to figure out why the date is weird. Good night and Happy New Year!

Christmas Eve: Grandma's House

My boys.... Rowan looks less than thrilled, haha.

Daddy pushing Rowan around on an antique tricycle that is still a bit too big for him.

The boys waiting for presents!

Rowan shares his soothie with Great Grandma Spahr

Ruby (or Rudy as Rowan calls her) hides under the table to escape from the crazy toddler.

Rowan and Grandma play with a new toy.

Rowan was pretty excited about eating dinner. He's definitely an Obermayer in that he needs to eat, or else.

Cuddling with Uncle Randy.

"Bat" or bathtime is the best, especially after Christmas Eve church and a birthday party for Jesus!

Wednesday: Grandpa & Deona's

Last Wednesday it rained all day!! We had a lot of fun doing some last minute Christmas shopping, visiting Grandpa at work, and celebrating Christmas with Grandpa, Deona and Uncle Randy. Rowan managed to swipe a large car and a ball from Grandpa's office. Lucky boy.
Waiting for the rain to let up a bit before running into the mall!

Rowan enjoying a Christmas cupcake at Grandpa & Deona's

Happy boy with two of his new cars.

Rowan tries on one of Mommy's stocking stuffers... I think he can pull it off.

Rowan with his ride on fire truck that he loves to play with each time he visits Grandpa and Deona's house!
I realized I did a poor job of getting pictures of Rowan with other people... its much tougher now that he doesn't sit still for long! :-)

Our Trip in Review

Since we were so busy doing wonderful things each day of our Christmas trip to Illinois, I have decided that over the course of this next week, I will share pictures each day of that same day the week before. Today is Tuesday 12/29 so I will share some pictures from Tuesday 12/22. That way I won't have to cut out any really cute photos. :-)

We arrived in Chicago last Monday. Rowan had his best flight ever! He napped, played and snacked. While we were waiting to board the plane in Phoenix, one of the seats by the gate had a rip in the it and Rowan REFUSED to go anywhere near the rip. He climbed up onto the seat and sat in the corner as far away from the tear as he could get. It was pretty funny.

We traveled to Morton on Tuesday. Rowan got a real taste of cold and snow. He hardly seemed phased by it though. In fact, he loved wearing his hat so much that he would get upset if we tried to take it off.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

We are celebrating our early "Christmas morning" tomorrow since we leave on Monday. I think Roger and I are more excited about it than Rowan. :-) We can't wait to see his little face light up wihen he opens his gifts. More pics to come...

Silly Boy

This batch of pictures capture a day in the lives of Rowan's matchbox cars. He is currently obsessed with putting them in odd places.

Cookie Time 2009

If I am going to be perfectly honestly, making Christmas cookies wasn't the ideal "movie" situation I'd imagined. Rowan didn't like the how the dough felt and he was "scared" of the pan because he thought it was hot. He did warm up to the idea in the end and cut out a few cookies and sprinkled some too. In the end, though, he and Roger went to play outside while I finished the cookies myself. ;-)

Yes, I know his feet are awfully close to the cookies but hey, no one else is going to eat them. :-) Plus, if you've seen our kitchen table and all the grooves in it, you'll understand why I didn't want to do it there and be picking flour, sprinkles, and cookie dough bits from the grooves for the next six months.

It was a brisk 65 today. Rowan is bundled up, sampling a cookie.

Sharing with Daddy! So sweet.

Which One?

We are trying to decide on how we'd like to do Baby Boy's nursery. I'm opening up a poll on the side of the blog again for you to cast your votes as to the bedding you like best. Sorry for the small pictures, they were the best that I could do!

A Rainy Day

"Buggy" as Rowan calls him snoozing away on this rainy day.

Rowan this evening with Daddy, watching the rain. Rowan right after breakfast, watching the rain. That pretty much sums up our day today.

Rowan got a Christmas ornament from Grammy & Grampy.

A doggy ornament perfectly sums up 2009 for Rowan seeing as he is OBSESSED with dogs.

Baby Boy

Please excuse Baby's rather alienish appearance. You must remember that he has little to no body fat and weighs a mere 10 ounces. Oh, and for those of you who couldn't tell, the top of his picture is his face.

This was our favorite shot and it is going up on the Funny Ultrasound pictures board at the doctors office. Its pretty clearly labeled but the baby was laying with his legs tucked under his bottom and his bottom sticking up in the air. Amanda and I used to sleep that way as babies so it was cute seeing him do it in utero.
I would have included some pictures of Rowan too but unfortunately Rowan seems to have misplaced my memory card.
