We've been busy but also not. Some days feel about 48 hours long and others fly by.
Orlando:
We kicked off our official summer vacation by accompanying Roger on a business trip to Orlando.
We were safe and careful. We wore our masks and washed our hands.
We stopped and pick up some groceries and headed to our rental house. At the time we went, Florida was only allowing short term rentals for essential/infrastructure workers, which Roger is, so we got the cutest house with a pool, game room and movie theater room.
The kids swam a ton.
We had so many big, happy smiles!
The weather was perfect in the upper 80's with lots of sunshine! Our pool at home is still chilly but the water here was so warm.
We ordered in or cooked most meals.
And had plenty of popsicles!
We did venture out one afternoon for mini golf
and snow cones.
We got time to swim and play with Daddy too when he got home from work.
We HAD to have Freddy's one night too.
Adding in mask and different boarding procedures was different but hey, traveling was getting too easy, we needed a challenge. ;) Its always a huge blessing to join Roger when he travels as its never as fun being home without him!
Misc May:
Mrs. Baker's fourth grade traditionally does an end of the year auction where the kids can use their "bonus bucks" earned throughout the year and bid on prizes. We ended up doing this at one of his classmates houses. Cruz had the best time getting to see some friends... I did too!
The kids and Roger did some early morning chalk art. Cora is still in her jammies!
Cora made Diamoniques again this year! She will also be doing a duet with Claire.
The kids got to choose their traditional beginning of summer pool floats.
This guy is back on the baseball field and happy to be there!
This one too! Funny story...both of their first real practices fell on the same night, at the exact same times, about a 20 minute drive away from each other. It made me chuckle that after doing nothing for months, we finally had two things to do at the exact same time. I dropped Cruz off 15 minutes early and Rowan 5 minutes late. Then I picked Cruz up when he was finished and met up with one of Rowan's teammates who offered to bring him to a meeting point near our home. While I am so grateful to be starting up some activities again, I really don't miss this juggling. Hopefully next year both boys can play for the SAME club.
We had a low key Memorial Day full of popsicles, swimming and relaxing.
These two finally had a follow up orthodontist appointment. Both of their expanders are doing their jobs. Cruz will most likely be getting his first phase of braces put on in another eight weeks or so. I've always been thankful that they're doing this together but I am even more so now as no parents are allowed in the office. I dropped them off at the door and they went in together. The nurse called me when they were finished.
Ice cream is our favorite way to celebrate a good dental visit!
