We had a memorable, pre-Memorial day. Here are a few videos and stories from our day.
*quotes are written in Rowan-ese
Rowan was playing with his matchbox cars today when he held one up and said, "This Buggy's car, Mommy." (Buggy is his name for our dog Cooper). I looked closely at the car and couldn't believe that it was a Mini Cooper. Somewhere along the line, someone had told Rowan the name of the car and he remembered PLUS connected it to his dog. A dog that Rowan doesn't even call by the name Cooper. Pretty high level thinking for a not yet two year old, wouldn't you say? :-)
We went out for dinner tonight and like always, Rowan got a kid's menu and some crayons. For some reason, he had two red crayons. While waiting for dinner, Rowan accidentally broke one of the red crayons. Roger quickly grabbed the other red one and told Rowan not to worry and that he could fix the crayon. Rowan handed over the broken pieces of red crayon. Roger pushed the broken pieces together and then quickly produced the red crayon that had not yet broken, making it seem as if he magically put it back together. Rowan looked at me amazed and said, "Mommy, Daddy ficked my red one!" I gave Roger a look but was actually laughing as well. Roger looked pretty proud of himself until Sir Rowan takes the crayon and breaks it, hands it to Roger and said, "Please, fick it, Daddy." The look on Roger's face was priceless. I almost died laughing.
