June Happenings!

June has been fun and absolutely flown by. Roger has continued to feel good and he's weaned down from 60mg a day of steroids to 40mg, he's back to traveling for work and pretty much back to normal. We are so thankful for his healing and I'm thankful for a break in my role as nurse. It took the kids a solid week of summer break to settle into a routine. Our days are so scheduled during the school the year that all of the freedom and slow days were a bit hard to adjust to for the kids. There was a lot of bickering and a lot of "I don't know what to do" but we pushed through and now that we are settled in our summer normal, our days are so fun!

Pool Floats:

RowanFloat
We kicked off the summer with a trip to Walmart for new pool floats. This is one of the kids favorite summer traditions.

Tooth News:
MissingToothCora
Coco Bean lost her first front tooth.....

MissingTeeth
......and her second!

Movies:
Aladdin
We made several trips to the movies and both Aladdin and Toy Story 4 were amazing.

Rowan:
PrinceWarrior
Rowan has been reading a lot this summer and blew through this whole four book series within the first three weeks of summer.

Cruz All Star:
AllStar#8
Cruz was one of three players in his division chosen to play on the 10U All Stars team. He was also nominated for the Defensive Player of the Year Award. Even though he did not win that one, we are still so incredibly proud of him.

AllStar#1
Grammy and Grampy were in town for the weekend so they were able to see him as he was presented his award.

Cora got all disgruntled after each award that Cruz didn't win- even ones he didn't qualify for, haha. She'd fold her arms and say, "Cruz should have won that."

AllStar#9
We finished off the evening with some ice cream to celebrate our all star. Cruz's team ended up in the championship tournament as well (which is awesome because they were totally the under dog team). They ended up losing but Cruz pitched an amazing game and was awarded the game ball by the umpire. We are so proud of the fun season Cruz had. It's always especially fun to see him shine.

Dance Recital 2019:
DanceRecital#3

DanceRecital#1
Coco was excited to try straightening her hair. It turned out really pretty but unfortunately, the day was super humid so it didn't last real long.

DanceRecital#5
Cora got to dance beside her friend Claire for ballet.

Coco is all the way on the left!

DanceRecital#9
Hip Hop was new for our girl this year but she ended up loving it.

DanceRecital#11

Cora starts in the back row, next to the boy dancer. She has her hair down since she had to make a quick costume change from ballet while most of the other girls have ponytails.

DanceRecital#12
Flowers from Grammy & Grampy and flowers from her boys.

DanceRecital#14
Sis was so excited to have some extra fans cheering her on.

Coco picked a fun Hibachi restaurant for dinner! The kids love when the chef tosses rice into their mouths and they all love the chicken and rice. Thank you SO much, G & G for making the trip to support Cruz and Cora. Thank you for al the food, fun and special memories we made. We love you!

VBS:
VBS#2
As it did last year, VBS fell on the same week as baseball camp at school. Coco went to VBS with her friend Claire each morning while I dropped the boys off. Claire's mom snapped a few great pictures for me.

Baseball Camp:
BoysBaseballCamp
These two had a great week playing their favorite game. The high school baseball team puts on this camp. Its always so fun for Rowan and Cruz to spend time with these really great kids who love Jesus and baseball.

Father's Day:
Father'sDay#2
Simply the best. You’ve taught them to love Jesus, how to say I’m sorry, how to throw a baseball and how to finish tasks- even hard ones. You make them laugh, you’re the best at tickling, you’re wrapped around Cora’s little finger, you are the BEST at school projects and you’ve taught them where their true worth lies. They are so blessed to have you as their Daddy!

Horse Camp:
HorseCamp#1
We let each kiddo do two camps this summer (besides VBS since that one is free). The first one had to do with their favorite sport. The boys did baseball camp and Cora has dance camp in July. The second camp was a "fun" one of their choosing. Cora chose to do horse camp. She was even more excited this year to have one of her friends from school doing it with her!

HorseCampTrailRide
Cora and one of her new friends chose to ride together on the trail so that they could both ride their favorite horse Midnight.

HorseCampTrailRide#3
Cora is so good at making new friends wherever she goes. It's a trait I truly admire in her.
