I will post some more pictures from our fun night of trick or treating tomorrow. For now, here's this week's brothers picture. Even though Cruz looked a bit girly in his costume, the boys were adorable and had an absolute blast. They are just the sweetest things.

Happy Friday!!!
Rowan is having a super great day for a couple of reasons. First off, he picked out some brand new shoes at the Nike Outlet yesterday and they definitely make him sillier and faster. Rowan is also pumped up because he was moved up to level #5 at his swimming lessons. The most exciting thing in Rowan's little life, however, is that his Grammy & Grampy are coming to visit tomorrow. Silly Rowan has a lot to be excited about and he's definitely letting it show.

Fall Party!
Rowan had his Fall Party at school today and I was blessed to be able to go. Each preschooler had to dress up as a favorite Bible character and then they did a parade for the older kids. Rowan dressed up as Joseph complete with a multi colored robe. The kids made a craft, played ring toss with pumpkins and listened to a neat story about how Jesus cleaned us out on the inside just like we clean out our pumpkins.
Rowan as Joseph....
The whole gang. There was Queen Esther, Joseph, Noah, and a lot of animals. :)

A Little Lesson
Rowan was not himself at school today. It don't know if it was because he arrived late this morning or because I was gone all weekend or what but he didn't have a great day. Our generally non physical little boy pushed over a girl in his class then refused to apologize. I had him apologize to his teacher on the way out but he never did apologize to the poor little girl who just happened to be in Rowan's way.
After we got home and had talked about the incident, Rowan sat down to make a card to apologize to his little friend. I thought the card was sweet and I hope this little lesson sticks with Rowan. I think it just might because when we were finished he said to me, "hey, this is like Matthew 7:12, I shouldn't push because I don't like to be pushed, right Mama?"

Cruz Emerson: 1 1/2
It's been rough around here lately. Lots of crying, myself included. Rowan is running on very little sleep due to waking up in the middle of the night to go potty and then not being able to go back to sleep. Cruz is starting in on the terrible two's. You know, the tantrums over ridiculous things? Here's a little convo the sweet thing and I had yesterday:
C: Mommy, Bapoo (cup)
Me: You'd like your cup, Cruz?
C: Yeah (nods head emphatically).
So I hand him his milk sippy cup and he immediately cries, "noooo" and hits the floor, legs flailing, crying and carrying on.
Me: What on earth is the matter?
C: DAT, bapoo!!! (pointing to Rowan's water bottle on the counter)
Sigh, luckily he's cute. Here are some shots of our gorgeous little 18 month old to prove that though he is a stinker, he's as handsome as can be.

Pumpkin Patch 2011
We had an incredibly fun family day yesterday. After Rowan's soccer game we drove up north to Prescott, AZ (about 90 minutes away) to the pumpkin patch we've been visiting since Rowan was two months old. This is a looong post. I tried to narrow down the photos and my words but I couldn't so here they all are. :)
Each year we get a picture by this sign.
They added a new sign this year although neither boy is looking and neither one is standing correctly to accurately measure their height. :)
No adults could ride the train so at first Rowan rode the train by himself, much to Cruz's dismay.
We felt bad for Cruz so Roger and I crossed our fingers that he would stay securely seated beside Rowan and let him ride too. He did a great job.
I love how the boys are looking at each other.
Rowan looks scared but was actually yelling, "Hi, Mommy!" as he passed.
Cruz doesn't love rides as much as Rowan does but he adores animals. He was lovin' on all of the goats by the end of our time in the petting farm.
Rowan wanted to get back to the rides.
I have no idea what they were looking at but I love how Rowan is leaning on Roger. The boys just love being with him.
To finish up the day of family fun we stopped at Peter Piper Pizza. The boys ate and played... and so did Roger. Cruz was eyeing Daddy playing the basketball game as they rode the merry go round.
We got stuck in traffic on our way home. Stand still for an hour traffic. Sadly it was due to a fatal accident so we just enjoyed being together, snacking and singing. Oh, and I have found another reason to be thankful to have little boys. The woods to the side of the road can very easily become their potty.

Soccer: Fall 2011
Rowan had his second soccer game today and it was so much hotter out than last week. Ugh. Anyway, Rowan did well despite the heat. He got the ball a couple of times, ran hard and had fun. His team played his best buddy Brayden's team, which was fun. Both Rowan and Brayden mentioned that they wish they were on the same team. So cute. Before we left this morning, Rowan was very eager to pose for some pictures for me. I am so excited about these because I captured so many Rowan expressions. He's not usually this animated for the camera. He also posed himself. Hopefully this is a new phase that continues.
Cruz was totally not into this picture at all as his crankiness transferred into today. Its still a keeper anyway.

Cranky Cruzy
Oh my goodness, my wonderful hubby encouraged me to rent a camera for this weekend so that we don't miss out on photos of soccer and the pumpkin patch. I am officially in love. I rented a model above the one I have, the Nikon d7000 and it is AMAZING. I am going to be so sad to give it back on Monday. Speaking of being said, the following photo of little Cruzy pretty much summed up today for him.
Despite popcorn, Elmo AND a trip to the store for cookies, Cruz couldn't seem to find his happy side today thanks to the four fang teeth that are pushing through his gums. Praying for a better day tomorrow since we have lots of family fun scheduled. I'll keep you posted.

Memory Tuesday
Rowan has an amazing memory so memorizing Bible verses comes easy to him. We wrote down the verses he knows on little slips of paper and put them in a container. Before bed, he chooses one verse out of the container and we recite it. He totally loves it. Even Cruz likes to mumble along.

Soccer
Rowan had his first soccer game this morning and had so much fun. Watching 10 three and four year olds run around a field kicking at a soccer ball is definitely amusing. There was lots of running the wrong way, kicking in the wrong goal and definitely some tears. Rowan is speedy and has great coordination, he just needs to work on being more aggressive! :) He scored one goal today and was super excited about that. He was also really excited about the snack and juice box that his coach provided after the game was over. Here's just one picture from today. Hopefully my camera will be back next week so I can take some more photos. :)
Warming up!
Running for the ball... his good friend Monty is the one who actually has the ball.

Update and Stuff
-I am still missing my camera. I am thankful for others to use it its place but I'm not gonna lie, I miss it more than is probably normal. :)
-Rowan has his very first soccer game tomorrow. He had his first practice last night and he did really well. I'm excited to see how it goes. With Rowan, you just never know.
-Rowan is still LOVING school. His teacher is such a blessing. He really loves her. He's been working hard on cutting, writing his name and coloring. He draws little people now and its so cute. He's in the developmental stage where he draws circles with eyes and arms and legs sticking out. :)
-As soon as I get my camera back, Mr. Sweetness is going to have an 18 month photo shoot.
-Cruz had his well check the other day and weighed 21 lbs 12 oz and was 31.5 inches... still in the 18th percentile for both.
-Cruzy is chatting up a storm. His words aren't always very clear and he has a few made up names for things but this Mama can understand most of what he says. My favorite is the Cruzy word for cup... "bapoo." Who knows how he got it but sometimes I catch Rowan asking for a "bapoo" as well. :)
Well there's a quick update for ya. I better head to bed, this soccer mom has to be ready to roll bright and early in the morning. :)

18 Months
We continued our half birthday traditions today as Cruz turned 18 months. We dropped Rowan off at pre-school and headed to Cruz's well check only to find out that it is scheduled for Thursday, not today. Oops. :) I took Cruz to play at the park thinking he would have a blast getting to do whatever he wanted without Rowan getting in his way but he just stood there looking a little lost without his big bro!
Rowan and I made cupcakes while Cruzy napped. After he got up, I had the bright idea to let each boy decorate a cupcake. They had so much fun but it was SUCH. A. MESS.
The boys weren't too thrilled about having to wait for Daddy to eat the cupcakes so I appeased the beasts with some leftover frosting.
A special cupcake with 1 and a half candles.
Cruz opened a sticker book (Rowan also got one of these when he turned 18 months) and a really noisy little shake and go car.

Brothers: Weeks 39 & 40
Here are the brothers pictures from the last two weeks. I was without my trusty camera for both so I'd like to thank my little point & shoot camera and my iphone for carrying me through.
Rowan and Cruz watching their favorite TV show, Bubble Guppies, before bed last weekend. Rowan was in the midst of a nasty virus which Cruz caught later in the week. We are all better now! I do love how both boys' special things are picture. Rowan's two small blankies, which he calls his soothies and Cruz's stuffed monkey named Chunky. :)
It was finally cool enough to eat dinner outside tonight and it was fabulous. It was the boys' first time eating dinner together at their picnic table.
Have a great week!
