Fun Day!

Rowan and Cruz filled up their kindness jar yet again. I think this makes the fifth time. The other rewards for filling their jar were smallish. We went out for frozen yogurt once, they donated their "marbles" to church, we went to the car wash and one time they chose to eat at Chick Fil A. This time we suggested a little bigger reward. We met Daddy at a Chuck E. Cheese near his office and had some fun time eating pizza and playing games.

This was a double reward for them. Not only was Chuck E Cheese so much fun but seeing Daddy in the middle of the day is always an extra special treat.

The boys are also counting down the days until we head to Illinois. I am counting down too since this is the least prepared that I have been two days before a trip. We can't wait to see lots of family! Rowan is especially excited for some time in the Wisconsin Dells. He's already plotted the water slides he's tall enough to ride on. :)

Happy Birthday B!

photo-48
Rowan, Brayden, Cruz and buddy Monty

Today was Rowan's lifelong buddy Brayden's 4th birthday party. Rowan and Brayden have literally been "friends" since they were weeks old. Megan and I were delighted to find that as they've gotten bigger, they've chosen to be friends. They definitely share a special bond. They play together so well, in a way that they don't play with other kids. Its so sweet. The other day Megan said they are like the close cousins that neither of them have and I completely agree. Brayden's superhero birthday party today was amazing. Happy birthday (on Monday) to sweet B!

Photos

I love pictures (I'm sure that is NOT new information to most of you). I love snapping the every day shots around here but every once in a while, I really enjoy letting someone else capture my cuties! We are going to have photos of Miss Cora done after she arrives by some photographers who specialize in newborns. These photographers were doing Father's Day Mini Sessions so we decided to get a few special shots of Rowan and Cruz too.

Getting a natural smile out of Rowan is always fun. :)

I love this sweet shot of Cruz. I also love that this photo shoot marks his entrance into big boy hood

I adore Cruz's big ol' grin in this shot.

I also love it turned this way since Rowan has a real smile on his face. I also love how tightly he's gripping his brother's hands.

Oh, my sweet boys. I truly love being their mama!

Who Rocks?

You do Cruzy!!!

cruz6-10
We are so proud of Cruz and how well he's been doing with potty training. He has had two completely accident free days in a row and even told us during an hour long car ride that he needed to stop to go to the bathroom. Last week, he had an accident here and there but nothing major. I can't believe how easy its been so far. He is still wearing a pull up at night time and naptime, however he has woken up dry from his nap for quite a few days. He hasn't quite mastered #2 on the potty yet but he usually waits to go in his night time pull up so we'll be working on that next. Anyway, I am just so proud of how Cruz has handled this next step into big boyhood. He definitely wears his undies proudly and likes to check to see which color Rowan is going to wear each day so that he can choose the same ones. :)

Its Over... and Other News

We had such a fun week at VBS but I have to say, I'm glad its done. Rowan had so much fun. It made my heart so happy to watch him enjoying himself. Each time I would catch a glimpse of him with his class it made me think how glad I am that he is mine. He's such a smart, sweet, special little boy.

Each day had a crazy theme. I so wish I had gotten pictures of the boys and their blue hair, crazy socks, backwards shirts and hats but the mornings were crazy enough without photos. I did manage to capture one of Cruz in his hat today. This picture makes me smile. My sweet Cruz looking so old.

Cruz loved VBS too. He was not lacking in attention, that's for sure. There was always someone carrying him around and he ate it up. Cruz managed to memorize part of the Bible verse and learn some songs in between his snuggling, snacking and dozing off during the closing rally one day (seriously).  He is also doing fabulously with his potty training and didn't have a single accident at VBS.

Today marks 24 weeks of pregnancy and Sister is still cooking away. I am way uncomfortable already but I am so thankful to be pregnant so I'm trying not to complain. Sister's nursery is also coming along... I've got lots of ideas and lots of random things, we just have to put it all together. Mom and I are doing a lot of projects along the way. I'm so excited to see how it all turns out. :)

VBS 2012

VBS2012

The boys are both attending VBS in the pre-school class and I am leading Kindergarten group.

The smallest kids shirt was a youth small. It swallowed Cruz up so I tied a rubberband around it in the back to hold it on.

I am exhausted but the morning seems to have revved the boys up.

Cruz wore a pull up to VBS this morning. I didn't think it was fair to have his teacher dealing with possible wet undies but he kept it dry the whole time. So proud of him.

I need a nap.

My Big Little Boy!

pottytrain#1
I have been putting off potty training. We worked on it with Rowan right before he turned two and I was so motivated and excited about it. Its a different story with Cruz. Its not that he's any less ready than Rowan was, its just that I'M more tired and less motivated. Cruz, in fact, is probably more ready than his brother was.

I keep saying that if it gets too hard or doesn't work out, we'll just put him back in diapers. I don't mean that though. I have my super mom and lots of friends cheering ME on. We're in to win it.

If I need a reminder why its worth the extra energy... this little guy's face is it. Cruz is so proud of himself. He actually is doing amazingly well and he absolutely loves wearing his boy boy undies. He had a few minor accidents today, nothing major and he can make himself go on command, which is encouraging.

Here's to Day #2 tomorrow!
