Coco Bday Wrap Up:
We enjoyed lunch at Shake Shack with Grandpa and Deona as a late birthday celebration for Coco! We love that we get to celebrate in person with them now!
Dress up Days:
The boys had spirit week at school and chose to participate in several of the days! The elementary school has one spirit day a month. This month was superhero day and Coco chose Wonder Woman.
Beach Night:
Night time beach visits are the best at this time of year! Not only is the weather cooler but the crowds are generally lower. We love to go play Spikeball, volleyball, look for shells and go downtown Siesta Key for ice cream!
School Pictures:
Eighth Grade
Sixth Grade
Third Grade
Grammy Visits:
Grammy came to visit and we had the best time showing her around our new stomping grounds!
Flag Football Wrap Up:
Flag Football wrapped up with some accolades for Rowan. He was mentioned in the school athletic publication as the player with the most flag pulls. He also received the Defensive Player of the Year at their end of the season party.
Golf:
The boys and Roger have had a blast getting to spend more time together golfing. A local course offers $20 rounds for adults after 3pm on weekends and free rounds for kids. While both boys enjoy golfing, Cruz asks to go more often than Rowan. He even got his first legitimate par!
Fall Break:
We had a long weekend for Fall Break this year and we spent it in Orlando at the Gaylord Palms Hotel. We played in the waterpark, ate a fancy dinner, visited a Cat Cafe and ate ice cream.
This neat coffee shop is actually a cat rescue. Patrons can spend time petting and playing with the rescue cats and can even adopt them. The kids loved it and wanted to take cats home! ;)
Cruz is 11.5:
Cruz is enjoying his first semester as a trumpeter!
Cruz has really come into his own the first half of the year as an eleven year old. He's developed a confidence and a sense of who he is. He's more outspoken and I've noticed him making his own choices as to what he'd like to do rather just going along with Rowan. He loves sports and works hard at whatever sport he's in. He's starting to stand up for what's right, recognizing what makes a good/life long friend, making tons of Biblical connections and growing in his prayer life. Cruz STILL hates to read. Will I ever be able to write that he loves it? I doubt it! :) He's doing great in school too. Cruz has taken ownership of classes/homework this year (with just a little push from me) and he's doing great! Cruz had a growth spurt and weighs almost 70 lbs (which is a ton for him... he was labeled as underweight at his 11 year well check up). He's growing in height too- slow but steady!
