Christmas "Morning"

Since we are leaving for IL in about 15 minutes we did our family Christmas "morning" today. Since everyone knows that Santa comes early for kids who are traveling, Rowan left out cookies and milk and found a lot of surprises under the tree in return! We can't wait to see you all soon!
On a side note, Rowan got his exersaucer a couple months ago so that he could get the most use out of it but it was really a Christmas gift! :-)

Cookies for Santa

While I was busy substituting at Cross of Christ this week, Grammy & Rowan were busy baking Christmas cookies! Rowan had fun helping to squeeze the frosting and hitting the sprinkle container and watching them tumble out!

Three Cheers for Cooper

Cooper does not get the "big brother" credit he deserves. Though I may not have written this post about four hours ago as he was knocking a glass jar of baby food off of the counter, he really is a great dog. Cooper is high energy and used to getting a lot of attention so we wondered how he would handle a baby but he adores Rowan. These pictures are just a fraction of the times we've caught him hanging around "baby brother."

Rowan was sitting there first and Coop jumped right up!

A few things...

Since I am so blessed to be able to stay at home with Rowan, I am more than happy to watch my friends' babies if they need it. What's one more?? :-) Here is Rowan with his friend Brayden. Its funny to look at the two of them together since there is a big size difference. Though they are only 5 weeks apart, Brayden is on the higher end of the growth chart and Rowan is on the lower end. They were both decked out in their Christmas outfits yesterday. The boys were a lot more aware of each other and interacted too with smiles and "talking".

Here's my little guy looking so big in his carseat! Its amazing to look back on early car seat pictures and see how much he's grown.

A company called Babylegs makes baby leg warmers. Here is Rowan in his "Jolly Jack the Happy Pirate" pair the he recieved as a gift. I think they are adorable! They also make diaper changing super easy!

HO HO HO!

Rowan had a great first visit with Santa at the Outlet Mall in Anthem. Unfortunately we didn't get a smile out of him (he was pretty tired) but at least he wasn't crying! The picture quality is not great but I guess that's what you get when they print you out your pictures 30 seconds after taking them! :-)

P.S. We thought out Santa was pretty authentic looking!

Fun with Food

Rowan has officially started on "solid" foods. He has eaten rice cereal, sweet potatoes and carrots. We do a bit of rice cereal in the morning and about half a jar of a veggie at night. This week we are introducing him to carrots, which he seems to enjoy. Rowan also sat in his high chair for the first time this morning. The first two pictures are "breakfast" and the last two are "dinner"

Okay, this picture has nothing to do with food but I thought it was pretty cute!

Password

Roger and I decided to take the password off of the blog- at least for now! That should make things simpler for all of you. Thanks for reading!

Thanksgiving 2008

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving trip to Illinois! Rowan was such a trooper the entire time. Our flight home was delayed almost 5 hours due to weather and we did not arrive home until almost 2:00 am. Rowan is such a super traveler... we barely heard a peep out of him the entire time! Roger and I are so thankful for him. Well, here are lots of pics- they are not in order......

4 months!

Rowan Christian- 4 months

Rowan had his 4 month check up today. He is a little peanut weighing in at 12 pounds 11.5 ounces. He is in the 60th percentile for height at 25 inches. The doctor says that he can start solid foods at any time and he could be getting teeth soon! Rowan had to have four shots but he barely cried. What a big boy.
On a side note... Rowan slept without being swaddled for the first time last night and did very well! I can't believe how "grown up" he's getting!

O' Christmas Tree

We had a fabulous time putting up our Christmas tree yesterday! We had some great snacks and Roger did a terrific job straightening out all those branches. Rowan really liked the lights on the tree! It was fun to add Rowan's stocking to our collection. A funny side note.... one of the interesting things about living here in AZ is having your windows and doors open while putting up your Christmas tree! It was a beautiful 85ish degrees yesterday! :-)
