Wild Family Time

It was a beautiful day today so we decided to take Rowan to the Phoenix Zoo (not the same zoo he's already been to.) Anyway, we had a lot of fun seeing the animals. Rowan liked the Elephants the best.
Rowan and Mommy in front of the lemurs and turtles... weird combination!
Rowan enjoyed the petting zoo. He looks timid in this picture but moments later he was yanking on that poor goat's ear.
A WWII Bunker replica... doesn't seem very "zooey" to me.

Rowan dances on command. Here he is grooving!

Rowan and Mom in Columbia.... Just trying to make the animals feel at home I guess.

Cooper broke our camera yesterday so we had to get a new one. These are the first pictures we've taken. We didn't have time to customize the settings so sorry if these picture pop practically life size!

Little Crawler

Rowan has proven that he knows how to crawl on all fours. He knows that he is faster scooting though. Its funny because he'll start out on all fours and as he gets more excited about his destination he drops down and speeds on the floor. He never used to do it at all though.... so its progress.

Rowan News

Rowan had a wonderful time in Illinois! He got to meet a lot of family that he had never met before including his Great Great Uncle Tom (not sure if that's his correct title, ha). He also got to meet a lot of friends including the Mitchell family, who I used to baby-sit for. Rowan got to see ALL of his grandparents, some of his great grandparents, great aunts, great uncles, and cousins! He even officially added Uncle Nate to his family. It was such a fun week! Today Rowan decided to pull out some new tricks. His second tooth finally popped through this morning, he has been crawling on all fours instead of on his tummy, and he's pulled himself to standing on lots of new things. These things include: gates, chairs, his crib, tables and toys. He's pretty proud of himself!

Amanda's Wedding

Amanda's wedding was amazing! She was seriously the most beautiful bride I've ever seen. She could have been on the cover of a magazine. I know that a lot of our blog readers were at the wedding but just in case...

HAVE FUN IN HAWAII AMANDA AND NATE!

Big Boy Moments

Rowan is quickly tiring of pureed baby food and loves chunkier textures. I decided to make him some spaghetti and let him have a go at "big boy food." I ground up the turkey, used elbow macaroni noodles cut in halves, and used some regular tomoto sauce and then also added some baby food veggies to it! (gotcha, Rowan!) He loved it. Oh, and you seasoned moms out there may laugh at me, but I covered his high chair tray in saran wrap. It was the first time he used the tray and I didn't want it stained with spaghetti sauce already! :-)

Before
After

The phone rang and I left Rowan crawling around on the floor. When I returned, I found this. Yep, Rowan is pulling himself to standing. Yikes.

Rowan's Antics

Roger thought it would be fun to get Rowan his first balloon from Red Robin. Rowan utterly enjoyed this new toy until Cooper got ahold of it. The loud POP scared Cooper more than Rowan.

Technically this picture should be turned sideways. This is how I find Rowan most mornings. Laying in his crib, reading a book. :-)

My really good friend from college, Annie, came to visit this weekend. We had a BLAST!

Rowan pulled himself up on the dishwasher today as I was loading dishes. Cooper is watching in the background. Cooper has gotten in trouble a few times for sticking his nose in the dishwasher so I think he's wondering why Rowan is allowed to do it!
Rowan and I leave tomorrow for Amanda's wedding and Roger will be joining us on Friday. Check back early next week for some wedding pictures! We are so excited, Amanda! Can't wait to see you all.

FUN!

Remember Rowan's fingerpainting from a month ago? Well, those pictures are now proudly hung in his playroom.
Daddy makes bathtime WAY more funny than Mommy! Please note that infamous bruise on his forehead is the dime sized yellow dot... the weird colored area surrounding it must be from the camera flash.
Rowan spots a 40 lbs bag of Cooper food!
Perfect for climbing!! (Notice the little tooth!)

Standing up!

The Weekend

We had a fun but busy weekend. I can't believe how quickly it flew by! On Saturday we cleaned, cleaned, cleaned! Then Roger and I had a dinner and movie date night while Rowan stayed with his usual baby-sitter. Today we went to church, went on a walk, and grilled out dinner! Other weekend activities included Rowan's first bruise and the sighting of his second tooth under his gums! There weren't too many news worthy pictures but this video should bring a smile to your face. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some more antics of partners in crime, Rowan & Cooper.

A Blast from the Past

I came across these today... I couldn't resist posting them.

More Moving Around

Rowan has been scooting around like a champ! He can get onto his hands and knees quite easily but has decided that he can get places faster by army crawling on his belly. Here is a picture of the tooth, doing a push up, getting up on all fours, and playing with the surround sound. Time for more baby proofing!

Pool/Tooth

Here are some more pool pictures and a video of Rowan's tooth. You have to watch it carefully! Oh, and though Rowan looks sunburned in these pictures, he's not. He was wearing SPF70 for all those nervous grandparents out there.

Rowan accidentally dipped his face in the water but didn't seem to mind!

He got brave enough to get in on all fours today.
