Universal Studios:
This is the only picture I got but Cora's team performed again at Universal Studios. It was rainy and chilly but she did a great job. She got to perform three of her dances and I always love to watch her shine.
Baby Chicks:
Cora's 5th grade class spent the last weeks hatching baby chicks. The class enjoyed watching while the eggs incubated, using flashlights to see inside the eggs, and watching as their baby chicks hatched. The class had seven surviving chicks who they named and loved. Cora's favorite parts were taking care of them and holding them. The chicks just left to go to their new home and the kids were okay with that! Cora said they were starting to be noisy and smelly! One even pecked a hole in her sneaker. :)
Golf Cart:
Cruz is not currently playing a school sport as he opted out of baseball this year. It's been different having him come home with us after school as he's played a sport every season since sixth grade! He's sweet to give Cora golf cart rides to the mailbox and then "off roading" on the way back.
Valentine's Day:
Secret valentines, sweet treats, grandparent gifts, Cora's final school Valentine's Day party and a Galentine's celebration with friends rounded off our celebration this year.
Fusion:
Our first studio competition this year was called Fusion Dance. Cora competed her two solos and six group dances.
Jazz Solo: Like This, Like That. She received a Platinum on this solo and 14th place.
Lyrical Solo: Invincible. She received a Platinum score on this one too.
SO excited to receive a high score banner for jazz. This was her first time "placing" on a solo.
Her teammate Chloe had a great day too.
SO proud of her. Cora had a rough week confidence wise before this competition so she had several small goals she set for herself and she far exceeded them.
Her group dances did incredibly well too. The girls on the team take turns getting to get the awards for the different dances. Cora was assigned their tap dance which turned out to be great as it cleaned up awards wise even winning 1st place over all the elite junior groups.
GREAT day for the Lincoln team. (this is just for my record)
Tap: Brown Derby Jump, Platinum Star, 1st Overall Junior Elite, Shining Star Award
Lyrical: I Lived, Platinum Star, 4th Overall, Fusion Overall Excellence Award
Musical Theater: Groovy Baby, 6th Overall, Platinum
Hip Hop: Gossip Girls, Platinum
Jazz: Vibeology, Platinum
Latin Jazz: Mi Gente, 1st Overall Teen Elite, Shining Star Award
Nate Bargatze:
While we danced, the boys cashed in on their Christmas gift which was tickets to see comedian Nate Bargatze. The boys had dinner at Ruth's Chris before the show!
Varsity Baseball:
We are down to one baseball player in the house! Rowan has been working hard at practice since January and his team finally got to take the field this month.
The boys volunteered at a local little league.
My handsome second baseman. I cannot believe this giant kid is my Row Bear! :)
While the team didn't pull out the win on their first game, we have a lot of hope for the seasons. The boys went through a coaching change just days before their first game. It was a stressful week leading up to that first game so there's no where to go but up! :)
Fly Dance:
For the second weekend in a row, Coco had a dance competition. This time, she only competed one dance a production with a bunch of other junior dancers. The dance is Harry Potter themed and our little Slytherin girl did a fantastic job. :)
The girls had an older girl do their makeup and she was incredible. I think I'm officially fired from make up duty.
Junior Production: The Magic of Hogwarts, Platinum.
Dirt Bike:
Cruz saved up for months and months and finally earned enough to buy his dirt bike!
