April was such a fun and busy month!
KAR:
We kicked off April with a dance competition in Apopka, FL. Cora had a great night of solos. Her lyrical placed 14th overall and she won a scholarship to a convention in Hollywood for her jazz solo. She has worked so hard this season and it's so fun to see that work pay off.
Baseball Wrap Up:
Row's team finished the season with a winning record and he landed in second place for Athlete of the Week in our local paper. Row ended the season with a 1.43 ERA, .326 batting average and .967 fielding percentage making only one error at second base all season long. He improved so much this year and had a fantastic season all while dealing with a broken finger and shoulder pain.
Grammy and Grampy got to come and watch a game!
Grandpa and Deona got to come and watch Row pitch a shut out in the first play off game.
Senior night honoring fellow captain and friend Randall.
Captains! Row has played with Randall for a full four years.
Every time I film Rowan at bat he never seems to do well so we just grab video when there is a livestream. This season, we only caught three hits but one of them was his first legit triple.
REVEL Nashville:
A big highlight in April was flying to Nashville for a long weekend visit with Claire. Not only did the girls shop, eat their favorite foods and giggle nonstop but they got to dance together at REVEL.
Cora got to cheer on Carson at her competition....
and have her very first Swig soda.
Cora was chosen as an Elite Reveler Runner Up along with wining several other scholarships. So proud of her.

Mom and Dad Visit:
April brought a Grammy and Grampy visit to celebrate Cruz's birthday, watch Row play baseball and eat sushi with me! :) We also played several games of Clue Conspiracy, watched the Cubs on TV and ate ice cream.
Happy Easter:
King of Kings movie with friend Aleyah
Thank you to Grandma for the cute plates.
Scavenger Hunt/Easter Egg Hunt
Math Project:
After finishing up a unit on area/volume of three dimensional shapes, Coco had to design a candy box. I thought hers turned out cute and she filled it with peppermints to share with her class.
Moon:
On the way home from dance, we couldn't stop staring at the moon! It was orange and huge. The picture doesn't do it justice.
College Visit #1:
College Visit number one is in the books. We visited Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft Myers. We all liked it and agreed that it was a great first stop on Rowan's college search. We liked the size of the school, the pretty campus, the resort style pool near the freshmen dorms and its proximity to home.
SCS Spring Concert:
Middle School Fine Arts put on a beautiful concert called Night at the Movies. It was filled with music, singing and dancing all pointing back to Jesus. Cora was a featured dancer and even had to perform a solo. I was really proud of her for being so brave and getting up in front of her friends and dancing her heart out.
I love how sometimes she's still such a little girl.
Here are some snippets from her performances.
Junior Prom:
Row went to Prom with a bunch of friends and had the very best time. They had dinner at Venezia followed by the dance at the Sarasota Garden Club. They finished off their evening with a gathering at a friends house where they hung out and played pool volleyball.
My baby boy!
Platinum Dance Competition:
Cora finished off her regional season of competition scoring platinum on all of her solos and receiving 16th place overall. While she wished she had done some things differently/better this competition, she truly has worked so hard and improved so much this season. Always keep learning and growing Coconut! It's only up from here.
Since she competed her contemporary solo for the last time, we can finally share it. This is "Nothing Is As It Seems" choreographed by Ms. Geena.

Myakka Elephant Sanctuary Field Trip:
Cruz went on a fun field trip with his Honors Biology class. Thankful for chaperones who share pics! :)
And that wraps up one of the busiest months we've had this year! Looking forward to May and onward to Summer Break!
