For a variety of reasons, we chose to spend our spring break in San Juan, PR. We had Covid tests done three days prior to departure, filled out a form with the PR health department and that was it. We spent the week at the beach, pool, revisiting our favorite places/restaurants in Old San Juan, surfing and eating delicious food. The best part was all the family time together though. It was a great reminder of why we love to travel so much and we're anxious to get back at knocking new places off our list SO soon.
Would You Rather questions are one of our favorite things to do at meals. We started out with an early seafood dinner on our first day. Our pickiest of eaters (Cruz) loves fish- both salmon and mahi mahi.
A sweet family who was leaving on our first full day gave us these boogie boards and footballs to use during our stay!
We didn't really spend much on activities this trip as we mostly hung out at the beach and pool but we did splurge on food! Our kiddos LOVE steak.
They love ice cream too! ;)
We visited Castille San Felipe on our last trip to Puerto Rico but Roger had take several phone calls for work on this morning so the kids and I explored it again on our own.
Our other favorite dining activity is doing "questions." This set is my favorite of all the sets we've done. It inspires such great conversation. I highly recommend.
After lunch we had Daddy back so we went and explored the fort that we didn't get to the the last time, Castillo de San Cristobal.
Row picked up a Puerto Rico baseball hat.
We also found an Escape Room in Old San Juan!
We let the kids pick out snacks from CVS for dinner (which they were so excited about). They ate those while they played games and watched TV in our hotel room. Rog and I slipped down to the restaurant next door for a quick date.
The kids asked to surf again on Condado Beach so we signed them up for a surf lesson.
Cora's favorite part was when one of the surf instructors grabbed a coconut off of a tree, axed it open and gave it to us to drink!
Fancy dinner #2!
On our last night we ate at a cute little build your own hamburger place. This was one of my favorite memories from the trip. The weather was beautiful, the food was good and everyone was just chatty, happy and content.
A good, relaxing week together was exactly what we needed! We miss Roger so much when he's gone so concentrated family time is the biggest blessing.
