Naples Getaway

Roger had a work conference from Wednesday through Friday this week at the Naples Grande Beach Resort. Naples is only an hour and a half drive from our house and since we knew Roger would miss our faces desperately, we decided to tag along and take advantage of the gorgeous resort.

Roger arrived earlier that morning so our room was already waiting for us. The kids and I checked it out and then decided to explore around the hotel.

naples2
One mad kiddo but that's okay!  :)

naples3
Are my kids the only one who act as if every curb is a balance beam?

naples4
They found the pool and much to their excitement realized that there was a waterslide!

naples5
We made a quick Target run for a few grocery items and treats.

We did breakfast on the patio each morning.

naples11
Then we headed to the pool. Roger got to join us for about an hour of swimming before he had golf and meetings to head off to.

Our hotel had beach access as well but the kid were so happy with the pool that we never made it down there.

Lunch by the pool

And I quote, "Mom, I don't like the chicken fingers... I LOVE them" This is a very rare statement coming out of his little mouth.

naples21
He loves his Sissy

naples23
After lunch it started thunderstorming again so they closed the pool. We headed upstairs for some ice cream.

Silly boys

Back in the water the second we got the all clear sign.

After a yummy Chick Fil A dinner, the kids and I stopped for cupcakes. Daddy conveniently popped back to the room just in time to eat one.

naples30
The boys had fun drawing on our patio with chalk.

naples31
On Friday, Roger's conference finished up so he was able to spend some time at the pool with us again.

Me and my babies!

naples34
We all went to see The Secret Life of Pets in the afternoon. That was SUCH a cute movie. We all loved it.

naples36
The kids wanted to get in one more slide and a little more pool time before bed so we headed back there.

Such a fun trip!

Today we left early to head home. We've been busy doing laundry, repacking and getting ready for our big trip to Illinois. We are looking forward to seeing tons of family and friends through out the next several weeks!

Happy Fourth!

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! We celebrated with family fun all weekend long.

Ready for a walk around St. Armands

No matter the heat, Roger can still drink coffee. It amazes me.

4thofjuly4
Yummy ice cream from Kilwin's

4thofjuly7
Sunday we went to church and continued with our red, white and blue outfits.

4thofjuly10
Freddy's for lunch before going to check out the Sarasota Power Boat Grand Prix. We didn't get to see any boat races but the kids enjoyed seeing some of the cool boats.

A girl and her dog!

In early afternoon we headed down to Siesta Key to meet up with Roger's Aunt Melinda, Uncle Pete and his cousins Petey and Stevie who were staying there for the weekend.  We played on the beach all day long (it was overcast, thankfully!), grilled out for dinner and watched the fireworks that night. It was such a gorgeous day and we are so thankful for so much fun with family.

The boys goal for the day was to find some sand dollars. This was very exciting for them as they'd never seen living sand dollars. We threw them back when we were done.

For being such a cloudy day, there was still a gorgeous sunset.

Someone missed the memo that jumping pics were over, haha.
