Rowan's New Job

Rowan unloaded the silverware (not the knives) from the dishwasher all by himself today. He put them away in the silverware organizer. He was so proud of himself.

He was so proud, in fact, that I bit my tongue and put the silverware holder back into the drawer just like this. It gave the perfect opportunity for Daddy to ask why the silverware was arranged that way and then high five Rowan for a job well done.

He just loves to help me. Its precious.

Veterans Day Parade

Rowan spots a doggy!

Rowan loved the helicopter. which flew over before the parade. He was pointing and smiling at it.

Rowan's favorite things at the parade today: dogs & balloons

This was a common picture as Rowan made many attempts to join the parade!

Enjoying the sights and sounds! This boy needs a haircut :-)

Mommy's Helper

Rowan loves to help me. At the store I hand him each item and he turns around and drops it into the cart. In the check out line I hand him items and he puts them on the conveyor belt. He hands me my credit card when its time to pay. It was no surprise to me that he wanted to help fill our donation box for the Phoenix Rescue Mission. He loaded up the box with all the Thanksgiving canned goods we got at the store. He had a great time! Since he didn't need help, I snapped some pictures.

A Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek of the big boy room. Roger has yet to touch up the paint. The only things in this room that are staying where they are located are the bed, dresser and nightstand. Right now the room is still being used for baby odds and ends until we can completely do the nursery/big boy room swap. His big boy room will have a subtle sports theme.
The view from the door. This bedroom is set up oddly. Its the exact opposite of his nursery but it made furniture placement difficult.
Bed & Nighstand. That lamp is not staying. Its one from his nursery but his big boy room doesn't have a light yet. This bed is AWESOME. It has two settings so we were able to put it on the lowest one and buy him a thin, but comfy mattress, to help him easily transition to a big boy bed. That's why the headboard looks so tall! In a year or two we'll buy him a full size mattress but this is going to work well for now.

Dresser, obviously. Nothing on the dresser or next to the dresser is staying that way.

Nothing Like a Good Book...

We got a new fire pit for our backyard which is perfect for this time of year in Arizona when it gets down to a crisp 60 degrees at night. :-) We read through an entire baby name book while we relaxed after Rowan had gone to bed. We came up with some good names... you'll all just have to wait to hear them.

Rowan swiped a book from the bookshelf and got up on the couch to read it. I cracked up when I walked in the room and saw that he had chosen Dare to Discipline. :-) He looks like he's trying to figure out a way around our discipline strategies.

A Little Story & Picture

Rowan, dressed and ready for church (well, his hair wasn't spiked yet) but he is wearing his Grandpa Cardigan sweater from Baby Gap that Grammy got him. Isn't it cute?

Last night before Trick or Treating all of our friends met at our house. Cooper was put into his cage at that point and was not released until around 9:00 pm when trick or treating was over. By then, Rowan was already asleep. After getting out of his cage, Cooper ran to Rowan's closed bedroom door and started whining, which was odd. I let him in and he ran over to Rowan's crib, stuck his nose through the slats, sniffed around, and walked back out. We think he wanted to make sure Rowan was okay and in his room since Cooper didn't get to see Rowan before he went to bed.
